New products of Iittala

Suomen lasi elää 9 (SLE9) on Suomen lasimuseon toteuttama kaksiosainen nykydokumentointihanke.

Vuoden 2025 hankkeeseen sisältyy uudistetun Finnishglass.fi -verkkojulkaisun tuotanto ja näyttely, joka on kuratoitu taiteilijoiden ehdottamasta materiaalista. Näyttely on esillä museolla 8.2.–18.5.2025.

Alkujaan SLE-hanke alkoi vuonna 1986 ja tämänvuotinen katselmus on jo yhdeksäs kerta. Hankkeessa esitellään aina viimeisen viiden vuoden aikana toteutuneita taide-esineitä ja sarjatuotantoa, näyttelytoimintaa, ammatin harjoittamista ja lasialan ajankohtaisia ilmiöitä.

SLE9 -verkkosivuilla voit lukea artikkeleita alan toimijoita puhuttavista ilmiöistä, nähdä koosteita tapahtumista ja Iittalan lasitehtaan uutuuksista vuosilta 2020–2024.

Vuonna 2025 toteutetun SLE9-hankkeen yhteydessä tietojaan päivitti yhteensä noin sata lasitaiteilijaa ja lasinvalmistajaa Suomessa. Tietoja päivitetään tämän jälkeenkin jatkuvasti ja uudet tekijät ovat tervetulleita mukaan.

Suomen Lasi Elää 10 -nykydokumentaatiohanke toteutetaan vuonna 2030 – palataan taas silloin!

The 2025 project contains the renewed Finnishglass.fi -production and an exhibition that is curated from the glass artists’ suggestions. The exhibition takes place at the museum from the 8th of February until the 18th of May 2025.

The inaugural FGL-project was in 1986, and we are now marking its nineth occasion. The project presents glass art and serial products, glass-related exhibitions, the work of glass professionals and contemporary glass-related phenomena from the preceding five years.

On FGL9-sites you can read articles on contemporary topics of the field, see collections of events and information on the new products of Iittala Glass Factory from the years 2020–2024.

The 2025 documentation of FGL9 brought 92 glass artists and nine - makers to update their information. The database of the glass artists and - makers will continue to be updated after this project, and new glass professionals are welcome to join the community!
